Design Studio / Commercial Interior Design & Installation / Minchinhampton / Cotswolds

Crafting distinctive spaces, creating a living art installation for your environment

From builders’ yard to home & studio, alongside a glass-boxed gallery on the ground floor, this is our COTSWOLD SHOWCASE & it’s hard not to be drawn in by the meticulously crafted blend of old & new.

The building is part residential, part commercial & set in the heart of the small town of Minchinhampton. It has historically served as a newsagent’s & a builders’ yard, amongst other things.

Grade II-listed, the house had been vacant for many years & was in a poor state, however, we completed the renovation in just ten months.

The planners were very sympathetic, so we were able to make some radical changes, like opening up a bright yellow walk way between the studio & gallery in the oldest part of the building. Additionally we knocked through a whole floor so what is now the main living room, was almost originally an entire two-bedroom flat.

Elsewhere, WORKSPACES & storage areas had to be converted to domestic use. The old paint mixing room is now a minimal bathroom off the main bedroom, which occupies the beam-bisected eaves of the original house.

The INTERIOR DESIGN STUDIO includes some beautiful feature furniture pieces such as a Christophe Gevers ‘working table’ & an original 1978 ‘Milan’ bench, made by Tecno for Milan’s Malpesa Airport.

The simple minimal Studio MacLean logo is traditionally hand sign written by our amazing friend Neil. He is seriously the best out there & trained in London’s West End from a lad before any digital help was on the horizon. No one else’s work compares.

With three bedrooms, the expansive living room, a large kitchen / dining room & a studio / gallery space which is currently home to their 1962 VW TYPE 3 NOTCHBACK, the new property sets Studio MacLean up for the next chapter.
